How to Get the Most Out of Your Reading, Step 4

Step 4: Incorporate your reading

The last step is probably the most important. Take the information and find a way to apply it in your life. This is why I advise you to take notes and ask questions. You have to bring that information back to you, assess it, make any changes that you need to, and assimilate it into your life so that it can help you. If you don’t, you are just getting a reading for the heck of it. Save your money! Do your reading with purpose and apply it with purpose.

If the reading says that things are going well and it predicts the outcome you want, then take that to heart and act like it is correct. This is the surest way to cause the outcome you desire. When you act as if the outcome of your situation will be the one that you want it sends a message to the Universe, or to your subconscious (depending on your school of thought, or maybe they are both correct) that you are claiming the outcome. Then, the Universe (your mind) responds by ensuring that the outcomes comes your way. Worry and doubt will only cloud what happens and can derail the outcome you want.

If the reading warns of problems out points to an outcome that you do not like, then your job is a little more involved. You have to evaluate what needs to be changed, make the changes and incorporate them into your life. It is quite possible that your reader has given you some points that need to be changed or (if he or she is a good reader) helped you work out those points as part of your question. If you ignore them, you are resigning yourself to the fate described.

Often readings will provide advice or teachings. When you get this, take some time and look how you can incorporate these into your life. What can you change? What influences are around you that you may need to distance from or deal with? How can you make changes now that will change where you are headed? These are all questions that the tarot can provide.

Notice that, in all these examples, the future is never set in stone. It is always up to you. It is always in your hands. All the reading can do is tell you what is happening around you, energetically or otherwise, and what is likely to happen under a given set of circumstances. This is part of the reason why having the right question is so important. It can help you take control of your life and point it in the direction that is most in alignment with your Will and Purpose.

When I have a reading, or I do one for myself, I always try to find some way to incorporate the knowledge and information gained within 24 hours. I make this recommendation to my clients as well. This helps to solidify the reading and information passed to you in your energy fields so that it can start affecting you. Giving myself, and yourself if you choose to follow this advice, a time limit to incorporate it makes sure that the information is still fresh. The sooner I can do it the less time my reasoning monkey-mind has to try and change it to fit what it thinks is correct. Try to keep the message pure.

If you can do this, you will find that your readings become powerful tools of transformation and shaping your reality. Meditating on the cards can that the reader lays before you can have a powerful effect on your life. Since they are part of the snapshot if the moment that you had the reading, it can provide the things that you need at that moment or help to foster the change that is indicated. This is especially true if your reading includes any Major Arcana cards. Pay attention to them!

And with that, I will draw this series to a close. If you follow these four steps you can not help but have a good reading.
